The ECSHOF boasts the Who’s Who in the surfing realm of the Atlantic coast. They are an independent, non-profit educational institution created to honor and memorialize the pioneers, legends, champions and individuals who, through their passion and dedication, have made outstanding and significant contributions to the development and recognition of Surfing on the East Coast of the USA.
Eastern Surf Magazine (ESM) was founded by Tom Dugan and Dick Meseroll In 1991. It quickly became the bible of the east coast surfing communities and could be found in every surf shop from Maine to Miami. ESM was ad supported and was distributed for free. Often irreverent with scantily clad ESM girls in each issue, ESM had the pulse of the east coast like no other magazine. ESM succumbed to the digital age and ceased its print publication in 2017. It is still available online.
Encyclopedia of 20th Century Surfing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to researching, archiving, and presenting surf history and culture. Matt Warshaw has written a comprehensive reference featuring many of Florida’s iconic surfers. Update: EOS is now a subscription-based page that costs $3/month or $30/year. It is well worth the small contribution.
Surf Guru is the leading Internet eZine dedicated to serving the surfing community. Based in Brevard County, Florida, we are active within our local community, and maintain a visual presence throughout Central Florida at many live events in order to provide our viewers with the most current, up-to-date information on the surfing scene!
Swaylocks Design Forum is a community for surfboard lovers and the people that make them. They have regular contributions from Floridians involved in the surf industry. Also, it’s a great way to show you how to spend $700 in tools to make a fin that costs $50 at the store.
